Thursday nights with the McPs are always fun. Especially with spades, wine, and Pandora.
Last week Emily served yams instead of sweet potatoes and left out the squeeze of lemon juice.
This week I completely forgot to serve the side of yogurt sauce stuff with the chicken. Just realized when I opened the fridge. My bad.
It's ok. We had two desserts.

#TCfinale ***Spoiler Alert!!***
#Teamblais!!!!! Matt and I have been avid Top Chef fans for a while now. This season we were lucky to never miss an episode (thanks DVR). We like to pause at parts to chat about what was just said or what just happened. But every week we record it to watch sometime later in the week. This has sucked at times because facebook and twitter have spoiled episodes for me. But I watched and didn't let Matt know that I knew who was getting sent home. No need to ruin it for him. I asked Matt on Monday if we could please watch the finale tonight in real time. I wanted to get the results when everyone else did and feel like I was part of the action! And it was great! My man won! I have been #teamblais since the first episode of his season. It was so crushing to see him fall short in that finale. But tonight! He rocked! To be fair - so did Mike. I was really surprised and impressed by Mike's performance the last couple of weeks. He stepped it up big time and gave Richard a run for his money. But still so happy to see the title go to the most deserving chef. I look forward to see what Richard does with the $200,000. And I hope that I will get the chance to go to his new restaurant one day to taste his accomplishment.

Tuesday = 3 hours of The Office
Alright, so I'm a big fan of fidelity. I have particular beef with TV shows (even the ones I'm shamelessly addicted to) that throw around cheating showing it as commonplace as changing your a/c filter (which it is recommended you change every month). There's no shame or consequences for sleeping with your husband's best friend or your best friend's ex husband! And sleeping with all of your coworkers over the course of a couple of seasons, I mean years, is completely normal, if not expected. In real life it's always "I never actually loved her." or "I never really knew myself."
Marriage is a sacred institution, a covenant. They didn't put "until death do you part" in the vows for funsies. It's for real, for always. It would be nice if people actually took that vow seriously. Do you think people would get married as casually if divorce were illegal? Also it would be nice if Hollywood would portray a better picture. A little more Miranda & Steve and a little less Addison & Mark or Addison & Pete or Addison & Sam.
All this to say I think if given the chance I might actually take the opportunity to swap spit with Jake Gyllenhaal. He is a beautiful specimen. Matt agrees. He asked the other night how one person got to be so attractive. We discussed how he must have pretty hot parents because they made him and Maggie. Then Matt told me that she isn't really that hot. She's more the girl that you want to meet when you go visit your grandma for three months over the summer. I'm not sure that I agree, but what do I know.
Also, I think that my favorite joke on The Office is when Holly thinks that Kevin is special.
"Yeah well, the party, driving to the supermarket... it's a big day for him."

I miss spring break
If I had spring break I would go to Tyler and hang out by the pool with Deni, her friend Brittany, and my friend Jenny. I would eat Taco Bueno and Einstein Bagels. It would be grand.
But I don't.
Tonight I made Chicken and Vegetable Casserole. I included a link because it was so good! You should definitely try it. Matt and I finished Band of Brothers. I am sad for it to be over. I definitely deserve a big "I told you so" from Matt over my reluctance to even give it a try. But really, that series deserves every accolade received. I honestly would probably watch the whole thing again. Finally as the last episode ended I pulled up IMDb to look up a character that I recognized the whole time. Anybody remember What About Brian? Well one of the main characters was Dave. I had pretty much forgotten about that show. Now I'm back to wondering why it ever went off the air. So my recommendations tonight?

- Make Chicken & Vegetable Casserole.
- Watch Band of Brothers
- Petition to bring back What About Brian
- Watch Love and Other Drugs (Maybe Anne Hathaway's best role)

Confession
I finally watched Step Brothers tonight. Matt and I enjoyed it over taco salad and cake. Here it is. I'll just say it. I did not hate it. In fact, there were numerous parts that made me LOL. Here was a particular high point - "Your voice sounds like a combination of Fergie and Jesus!"
I'm not exactly ready to go to work tomorrow. It's too bad that Sunday can be so enjoyable until it comes night time and I remember that it's a school night.

Interesting Evening
I decided to try and play some tennis with Matt today. We met his Vietnamese buddy, Jeff and hit for a little while. This was not a good decision on my part. My back flared up and hurts so badly! So I bowed out gracefully, left the boys to play, and hit the showers. As I was leaving Jeff asked if I wanted him to cook burgers tonight. He's actually invited us over before. But it was right when I hurt my back, and Matt told him it wasn't a good time. So Matt got home from playing and said we were going over there later. I'm laying on an ice pack watching How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days. All of a sudden we hear this weird noise. I look outside and our freaking fire alarm is going off! Turns out some kid pulled the switch in the building attached to us. Bummer. It's a good thing there was no real emergency. 45 minutes after the alarm started sounding the fire dept showed up. Then they couldn't even shut the alarm off! They had to get in touch with the building management to come reset it. So we went to Jeff's a few minutes early to escape the noise. He cooked Vietnamese egg rolls, burgers, and French fries. And it was good! He is a self-proclaimed chef. He is pretty proud. He may not be an actual chef, but I'll let him cook for me anytime!
Now I'm on the ice again and about to hit the hay. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more productive.

Same Old Song & Dance
It never fails... If Matt and I don't have specific plans for leaving the house and doing something our Saturdays are always wasted away. Here's how it goes.
We wake up and I make some sort of breakfast. Today - monkey bread in the muffin tin. Super yummy.
We sit to eat breakfast.
Then Matt gets on the computer and I start piddling, cleaning the house or playing on my phone.
Soon enough it's time for lunch. We sit down to eat and get caught up in one of the random movies TNT is showing. Today it was Runaway Jury. We end up watching the whole thing. Next thing you know it's 5:00! And so goes another Saturday...
